Stories Of Belmont Edition 1, 2015
World Breastfeeding
Week  August 1 - 7
This year's theme is "Breastfeeding Support: Close to Mothers", highlighting breastfeeding peer counselling, an approach that tackles the sharp decline in breastfeeding rates and
practices in the weeks or months after delivery, particularly exclusive breastfeeding.

To support this initiative South Barwon Community Centre is making its first
edition of Stories Of Belmont a celebration of your experience in breastfeeding

Share your insightful, individual and entertaining stories about your experience with breastfeeding to bring about awareness and education to improve the health of babies.

We want to hear your breastfeeding story, it doesn’t have to be long or written
professionally, just your story in your own words and 500 words or less. It can be a story or anecdote, or poetry or anything else you can think of you can put into words and pictures.

Celebrate your experience with breastfeeding and encourage others to do so, share your culture and customs and family traditions. Be an active participant in World Breastfeeding Week and promote this important stage of all baby’s early development.
The deadline for story submissions is Friday July 31st.

Submit your stories in person at our offices at 33 Mt Pleasant Rd. Belmont, 3216 or email them to sbcommunitycentre@gmail.com

For assistance in writing your story please don’t hesitate to contact the centre via email or call on
5243 8388 to make an appointment. SBCC will try to accommodate translating of your own native language into English where possible if English is not your first language.
